Your Imagination

Building Our Vocabulary

I want my student’s to build their vocabulary. This will help them build their personality as well their language.

Since I am going to teach English Literature, I am going to have my K-12 students create a slide show of vocabulary words. My students would have to use vocabulary words they learned through out their readings  and use Powerpoint; insert images to help explain the vocabulary words to a group of ESL students to build on to their language.

“It’s like learning a language; you can’t speak a language fluently until you find out who you are in that language, and that has as much to do with your body as it does with vocabulary and grammar.”

  1. I like the idea of using imagination, some teachers don’t use this in their lesson plans making it less creative and fun for them to learn.

  2. Creativity is key in the classroom. Creativity should be used in all subjects, not only art.

  3. Interesting quote.I guess imagination is good but I don”t know whether it fills the soul or not.I know its indispensable to creativity.

  4. agree, this idea can also help the other students to learn the foreign language from each other, i believe it can be more fun in the classes…

  5. images does help to learn vocabulary words. You can ask the student to guess what it means by looking at the images.

  6. i love this image! I want to teach Biology and there are so many concepts students need to learn. I agree that an image will help recall the definition of the term.
